So how do you start your blog?

“I'm not telling you it's going to be easy - I'm telling you it's going to be worth it.”- Art Williams
Most things are not that easy until you know how. Blogging isn't much different. You may be one of the lucky ones who finds you have a knack for web-design. But if, like most of us, you find yourself becoming frustrated with the smallest little thing (930 pixels wide? What???) then this YouTube guide should get you back on track. Happy viewing...!

Welcome to Media Studies!

The Media Crew would like to extend a warm welcome to our new Year 12 class for 2017/18.

We are so glad you have decided to study media at A level and are really looking forward to working with you. We can guarantee that you won't be disappointed with the course that we have to offer you this year!

All specifications starting in September are brand new and we have decided to follow the WJEC Eduqas syllabus. Some of the topics we will be covering in Year 12 include:

  • Music Videos (Set texts - Beyonce & Vance Joy)
  • Film industry and marketing (Set texts - Straight Outta Compton & I, Daniel Blake)
  • Television (Humans and The Returned)

We will also be looking to develop your practical skills through a series of mini-projects which will help prepare you for the Non-Examined Assessment that will take place in Year 13.

The full specification can be found here. This blog is a one stop shop for everything you will need in the year to come. Please make sure that you subscribe to us using your school email address (check the left hand column)... that way you will never miss a post! Looking forward to meeting you all in September!
